Life on Kauai is "laid back" or casual. Attire is commonly shorts, T-shirt and slippers, reflecting the beach and golf environment.
There is very limited nightlife on Kauai. Most people come to Kauai to relax and enjoy the many outdoor activities. Aloha Spirit abounds. People tend to be very friendly and helpful. Bring your positive attitude, smile and enjoy!
Even the fancier restaurants ask that diners only wear a dress or long pants and shirt with a collar. Formal attire, coat & tie and excessive jewelry would be out of place and not recommended.
